2015 JAMB UTME CBT Examination schedule released.

 

Jamb has released the schedule for the 2015/2016 computer based test examination schedule and as stated by the registrar of jamb Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, the paper and pencil test (PPT) and dual based test (DBT) have been canceled. 2015 JAMB UTME would be purely CBT (computer based test).

The 2015 JAMB UTME has been scheduled to take place on March 9, 2015 and ends on March 21, 2015. March 9^th is a Monday day being the first day and ends on Saturday 21 of March. As stated by the registrar it is only going to be computer based.

laptop problems and solution

In this post I will share what I know as it concerns simple computer problems and I will provide the solution to all the problems I will mention

1 blank screen.

What you normally notice is that the laptop will be fully functional except from the screen that stays blank, that is you do not see anything on the screen.

Most of the times  this is caused by memory just like every other unit the memory fails at time
In this case you can try reseating memory modules to make sure they are making good contact with the slot. You can try removing memory modules one by one and test the laptop with only one module installed. You can try replacing memory modules. Some times after replacing the modules do not work in this case you contact a hardware engineer if you cannot disassemble the laptop on your own.

2 laptop doesn’t turn on.

Maybe your battery or the AC adapter has a minor problem. When you push on the power button, nothing happens at all do not panic.

solution
 sometimes there are no charges, that is the battery is completely dead try charging with a different charger. If that isn’t the case test the AC adapters with a voltmeter if you find out that the ac adapter is dead replace it.

Also it may be failure of another part or the motherboard itself if the motherboard fails I will advise you get a new system or replace it if you choose to.

3 Screen light fails.

The laptop starts properly but after a while the screen light turns off. The image still appears on the screen but it’s very dark.

In some cases the screen light never starts and all you can see is a very faint image.

Solution
Most likely it’s either failed screen inverter or backlight lamp failure.  When either one fail, the backlight stops working.

In order to troubleshoot this, you’ll need some spare parts: either new working inverter or known good backlight lamp.

4 Tripping on and off.

The laptop turns on by itself and turns off. In some cases you might turn it on but while using it trips off

this is signal that the motherboard will soon die or there is a virus attacking the system but first thing to do when you are faced with such a situation is to run a deep scan and clear unwanted file in an attempt to get rid of virus if problem persist then you may have to format and re-install by the end of the re-installation if the problem still does not stop then probably the motherboard is faulty.

5 Repetitive beep sound on startup.

You notice that your system starts playing a beep sound without your permission and the sound continues beeping.

solution
this problem is caused by the keyboard, whenever such a thing comes up the solution is to lose the keyboard and fasten it back if fault persist then you have stuck keys replace keyboard

6. System becomes noisy.

This makes things look as if there is a mini market in your laptop immediately you turn it on it becomes very noisy but everything works well.

solution
such a problem comes from two components either the cooling fan or hard drive is responsible if it is the fan you have replace it else if it from the hard drive backup your data immediately before taking any action.

7. Battery not charging properly.

Battery stopped charging. It doesn’t charge at all or charges only after you adjust the position of AC adapter plug inside the power connector.

solution
Failed DC power connector. If the battery charges only after you adjust the position of AC adapter tip inside the connector, most likely this the DC jack failed.

8 Keyboard has missing or broken keys.

A key got separated from the laptop keyboard.

solution:
If a key separated from the keyboard, its still possible to fix it.
If you have many keys missing, probably it makes sense to replace the whole keyboard.

Before today I have written about Samsung s6 now that I have been able to get across it I bring to you a full review and I hope get to like it. Samsung s6 I will say is the most anxiously waited for device so far in 2015.
