samsung z1 and the tizen operating system

Samsung Z1 is an affordable and a beautiful device, in price and specs. It packs a four-inch WVGA PLS screen, and it is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 768 megabyte RAM. It has a 3.1-megapixel camera on the rear which is quiet poor but lets watch out how tizen os will help it, and a VGA camera on the front.

Tizen is an existing operating system built to address the need of mobile companies and related devices, tizen is an open source and flexible operating system.

Samsung Z1 runs on version 2.3 of the Tizen operating system, and comes with 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded by up to 64GB via a micro SD card (memory card). It supports dual SIMs

Samsung Z1 with its simple interface is said to be ideal for first-time smartphone users. Other tizen advantages that Samsung is boasting of include it being a lightweight platform that offers a fast boot time, quick access to apps, and fast browser performance using compression. The company is also touting a built-in SOS alert system that enables users to reach out for help by pressing the power button four times. The Samsung Z1 also features a private mode to keep sensitive user content away from prying eyes, and a preloaded antivirus. 

Samsung Z1 has  a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) PLS display, the Samsung Z1 runs on a 1.2GHz dual core processor coupled with 768MB of RAM. It comes with a 3.1-megapixel rear camera; a VGA (0.3-megapixel) front-facing camera; 4GB of inbuilt storage and a 1500mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 7 hours of video playback, and 8 hours of talk time which is quiet impressing. The company is also touting an 'ultra power saving mode'. 

wireless connections include 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. Samsung Z1 weighs 112 grams, and measures 120.4x63.2x9.7mm. Pre-loaded camera features include 'Dream shot' andauto face detect and also has a usb port.

Samsung Z1 is unarguably going to be faster than most windows phones and will allow access to a lot of hacking tools since its operating system is developed from linux.

With any new operating system, the all important consideration is its app ecosystem, and the Windows Phone and BlackBerry platforms can be seen as examples of where the lack of app availability is still rampant despite their age. Samsung says the tizen store is growing fast, this is because of its reliability and contains all the important applications already. The company gave WhatsApp as an example. The actual number of applications on the store was not disclosed.
